So ill be moving to Fairbanks, Alaska for the summer on May 30th. 

My roommate Johnny hooked me up with this once in a lifetime
chance to work as a Brick Layer......in Alaska!

I will stay with a family ( Robert and Vicky Taylor) that is letting
me and my cousin live for free in their 32' camper, a couple miles
north of Fairbanks.

I dig the list style xanga posts.

The Taylor's told me the other day that they saw a 1,200 lbs Moose
walking through their front yard!!!

If your lucky ill take a picture of me wrestling one of them 'small'

Hail to dear ole' Deer Run

 

So after the amazing staff slide show, goodbye staff devo, and a few tears...Jrod, Wade, and I drive out of the Deer Run gates for the last time this summer.  As we pass the gates we pull over, park the car, get out and gaze up at the sign that has shown deer runners so much joy over the years.  We stand there listening, waiting to hear another campers voice call out.  After a minute or two I start 1 a 2 a 123, and at the same time we all chimed in to sing one last tribute to camp. The Killi Anthem.  We sang out loud and proud, and memories of the past 10 weeks flooded my thoughts and I got caught up in the moment and shed some more tears.  At that moment I could feel God smiling down upon us and for that minute or two that we sang the song, time stood still for us.  We staff have been physically and mentally torn down, whether it be from the incredible hot weather to total exhaustion to Satan trying to drag us down.  The past 10 weeks have been a long and yet very rewarding journey for us 48 staff members and we've all prevailed against Satans many attempts to discourage us.  For we all our closer friends and even more closer to God than ever before.  I thank God that he gave me this special privilege to work on staff with these wonderful Christian men and women.  I pray that God challenges me more often, so that I may grow to be more in love with Him.

  This summer we 48 staff saw 1000 campers come into our lives, humble us and build our patience more so than ever. 

And im now in the process of having to do 3 weeks of laundry and packing up to move back to denton on sunday,  for i start work monday with my Pre-K kids, hmm i surely must love kids!  :)
